Live Review: David Bazan at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom 6/22.

I was also really impressed with the opening band, S. Carey. I didn’t catch all of his set, but we walked in during a crazy, intense percussion duet, with Carey and his drummer setting up a beast-like barrage of percussion. While I was less interested in his brooding, droning tunes, he kept a steady four on the floor beat with steady bass notes on the beat: hipster disco. An excellent time at the Bowery.
